Environmental Health Curricula for Medical Schools

October 22, 2009 • Tucson, Arizona

The Center for Integrative Medicine in Tucson, Arizona will bring together a group from public health organizations, medical school administration and environmental groups to initiate an effort to introduce their module on environmental health to mainstream medical school curricula.

While the impact of environmental factors on health is already a focus of public health, it has not yet become part of a standard medical school education. One of the guiding inspirations behind this initiative is the understanding that doctors are among society’s greatest change makers.
