Formation of Green Jobs Collaborative in the Age of Renewables
Jan 21, 2009 - Jan 22, 2009 • Santa Fe, New Mexico
Blackstone Ranch Institute is continuing its support of the Bioneers’ Dreaming New Mexico, an innovative initiative to build a coalition of leading individuals and organizations in civil society, government and business to build a restorative and sustainable economy in the state of New Mexico.
The Institute sponsored the early gatherings of the newly formed Green Collaborative, which is dedicated to developing green jobs in the state. It works closely with the governor’s Green Cabinet, and has representation from the state university and college system, organized labor, industry and environmental non-profits. The collaborative is the first major step in the development of a diverse civil society initiative to develop renewable energy in the state.
Blackstone Ranch Institute is one of several co-sponsors of this long term initiative, a group that includes the McCune Foundation and the Garfield Foundation.
