New Mexico Food System Summit

The New Mexico Food System Summit is part of the Bioneers Dreaming New Mexico initiative, a multi-year effort to energize the sustainable management of the state’s energy, food and water systems. At this gathering participants will develop common strategies for transforming the New Mexico food system. These strategies will be dedicated to the expansion of local food production and the cultivation of a wider collaboration among organic growers, farmers and food distribution systems.

Among the sponsors are the Center for Southwest Culture, La Montanita Cooperative, the New Mexico Organic Commodities Commission, New Energy Economy, the New Mexico Economic Development Department, the Santa Fe Alliance, the Traditional Native American Farmer’s Association, the University of New Mexico Sustainability Studies Program and Food Print NM.

Blackstone Ranch Institute has provided the funding for this gathering.
